Shave or wax at least 24 hours before, giving your skin time to calm.

🌸 Day Of

Skip lotions, oils, perfumes, deodorant, or makeup. They create a barrier and can affect your results.
Wear loose, dark clothing and sandals if possible — nothing tight that could rub your new glow.

Airbrush After Care

🌙 After Your Airbrush Tan 🌙

Marinate in your glow. Between your airbrush session and rinse time, keep it easy. No dishes, no sweating, no gym—just relax and bask in your beauty while your tan develops.
Avoid water & sweat. Getting wet too soon (even light splashes!) or sweating can cause streaks and blotches. Let your glow set in peace.
Sleeping in solution? If your rinse is the next morning, slip into loose, dark pajamas. A long-sleeved top and pants help prevent skin-to-skin contact (like behind the knees or in your arms) that can create darker spots

🚿 Rinsing & Aftercare

First rinse: Hop in the shower for a quick rinse only — no soap. Don’t be alarmed when you see bronzer wash down the drain, that’s just the cosmetic color. Rinse until the water runs clear.

Timing matters:

Standard 8-hour solution: Rinse after 8 hours or the next morning — no soap, just water.
Rapid solution: Your rinse depends on the depth of tan you chose with your artist:
• 2 hrs = light glow
• 3 hrs = light/medium tan
• 4 hrs = medium tan
• 5 hrs = medium-dark tan
• 6 hrs = dark tan
• 7 hrs = very dark
• 8 hrs = DARK AF 🌑
👉 Never sleep in a rapid solution — it must be rinsed off.
Pat, don’t rub. When you step out of the shower, blot your skin dry. Rubbing creates friction and can remove your tan while it’s still developing.
Moisturize, always. Apply a spray-tan-safe lotion (no mineral oils) all over. This helps your tan set beautifully and last longer, especially during the first 24 hours.

🧼 Your First Soap Shower (24 Hours After)

Wait 24 hours. After your spray tan, wait a full day before showering with soap.
Shave carefully. You can shave, but always use a brand-new razor — old blades act like exfoliators and can strip your tan too soon.
Moisturize. Apply a spray-tan-safe lotion after your shower to keep skin hydrated and glowing.
Hydrate inside & out. Drink plenty of water to support your skin from the inside while lotion keeps the outside soft and radiant.

✨ Airbrush Tan Prep Tips ✨

Skip the wash & condition the day of. Shampoo and conditioner leave moisturizing agents behind, which can block your tan from developing evenly—especially across your back.
Do NOT use Dove products. While Dove is great for everyday use, it contains extra moisturizers that create a barrier and prevent the DHA from processing correctly.
No last-minute showers. Showering minutes before your session throws off your skin’s pH balance, leading to blotchiness.
Dress for success. Wear an oversized top or loose dress so you don’t have to put your bra back on—bra straps can leave lines that interrupt your glow.

🌿 GLOW-SAVING TIPS 🌿

Blot with care. After rinsing, blot dry with a soft cotton t-shirt. Terry cloth towels create friction that can exfoliate your tan away.
Skip the scrubs. No poofs, washcloths, or exfoliating scrubs until you’re ready to remove your tan — they’ll shorten its life.
Extend your glow. Use XTan Sunless Mousse to refresh and deepen your color.
Start fresh. Use XTan Sunless Remover to completely clear your skin before your next appointment.
Protect your skin. Always wear sunscreen when out in the sun.
Moisturize daily. Stick with mineral-oil-free, fragrance-free lotions. All-natural options are best. CeraVe Unscented is an excellent OTC choice, and we carry spray-tan-safe lotions in-salon.
